Behaviour & Attendance Improvement

We are a range of professionals who work across the primary, secondary and special school sector in the areas of behaviour and attendance. We understand the unpredictable nature of these young people and can advise and support around this. As part of our team we have staff from a range of backgrounds including education, youth and community work and social care who have a breath of expertise in the areas of attendance, exclusions, admissions, behaviour and working with children and young people, families and communities.

The Psychological Service consists of a group of highly qualified and skilled child focussed practitioners. All the team have previously taught in schools and their specialist knowledge and skills include early years, looked after children, behaviour difficulties and bereavement.

We are a dedicated and highly committed professional workforce development team. We have a wealth of experience as experts in our field as inspectors, advisors, consultants and trainers. Ethnic Minority & Traveller Achievement

The Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service (EMTAS) is a team of dedicated teachers and bilingual specialist staff with significant experience of working with schools, community groups and other partners. We work to support schools in raising the attainment of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) and Gypsy, Roma and Travellers (GRT) pupils, including refugee and asylum seeker pupils.

Inspection

All members of the Inspection Team are highly skilled education professionals who have occupied senior positions in schools or colleges. Most are Ofsted accredited practising Inspectors. In addition, the team is able to call on the wide ranging expertise of a number of internal and external consultants, including local and national leaders of education, to ensure that support is matched to the needs of individual schools.

Schools' Music

We are a team of dedicated, highly qualified and skilled music educators and performers. The Music Service was formed in 1950, and last year celebrated 60 years of supporting music education in Gateshead. Our achievements are noted nationally - we are rated amongst the few ‘Outstanding Music Services’ in the UK, and have been awarded the National Music Council's Diploma of Merit on ten occasions, and most recently the Major Award.

We are recognised sub regionally, regionally and nationally as a high achieving partnership. The team have significant experience of teaching, learning and managing high quality PE and school sport. In addition we provide training and professional development for teachers, ASLs and young leaders.

We have an extensive depth and breadth of expertise firmly grounded in practical application. Virtual School for Looked After Children

A multi-disciplinary team with significant experience of working with schools, social work teams, foster carers, young people and all practitioners associated with supporting the achievement of looked after children. The team approach is to work in partnership with Head Teachers and Designated Teachers for looked after children providing advice and support and acting as a communication link with social workers.
